Stan Borys a właściwie Stanisław Guzek urodził się 3 września 1941 roku w Załężu.      Przez wiele lat ,aż do 2004 roku mieszkał w USA.Był współzałożycielem zespołu Blackout. Swoją karierę rozpoczął w 1969 roku.Stan był trzykrotnie żonaty.Uprawia jogę.

Stan Borys otrzymał w 2006 roku Srebrny Medal “Zasłużony Kulturze Gloria Artis”.      W  2011 roku otrzymał Złoty Medal “Zasłużony Kulturze Gloria Artis”.W 2017 roku      został odznaczony Krzyżem Kawalerskim Orderu Odrodzenia Polski.

Największym jego przebojem jest”Jaskółka uwięziona” ,za którą otrzymał w 1973 roku      w Sopocie nagrodę “Bursztynowego Słowika”
